About Tootsie Chase

Confident and classy in her favorite pin striped suit and sassy red fedora, Tootsie Chase is known as the ultimate professional by her peers. Although born with a never-ending supply of energy, Tootsie used patience and persistence to secure her place as one of the top investigators in her field.

Born on September 3, Abigail Marie Chase was the youngest of four children and the only girl. She was a happy youngster and learned at an early age how to hold her own with her three older siblings. When Abigail received her allowance each week, she would race to the corner five-and-dime and return home with a brown paper bag full of Tootsie Rolls. Her passion for the chewy, chocolaty treat inspired her grandfather to call her, Tootsie. Abigail Marie soon became...Tootsie Chase. At age 47, few people know her given name and fewer dare use it.

Upon graduation from the University, where she majored in psychology, Tootsie accepted a position with a child protection agency. It was there, while working on a case of welfare fraud, she met her mentor, Investigator Mac Hammond. Mac, a former law enforcement officer, owned a small detective agency. Mac marveled at the gritty determination which drove Tootsie’s search for answers. Sensing her natural ability to ferret out information, he suggested she join his agency. The path of Tootsie’s destiny was about to change. Soon, with Mac’s experience and Tootsie’s zeal, they became a top-notch investigative team.

When a tragic auto accident killed both her parents, the trauma shook Tootsie to her foundation. She began to question her abilities and after working with Mac for fifteen years she left the agency. After months of floundering in self-pity, Tootsie began to reevaluate her life’s goals. Realizing life is too short not to follow your dreams; she opened The Tootsie Chase Detective Agency, specializing in blackmail and fraud. (Although she’ll take on any case if it piques her curiosity.) She now has several part-time investigators working out of her office in the city; one being the semi-retired, Mac Hammond. However, Tootsie loves the country and prefers to work from her home office.

At seven AM it’s hard to miss the 5’7” private detective jogging through the park with her short brown curls tucked under a red baseball cap. Steel blue eyes dance with enthusiasm as she runs her daily laps. With her bright red Tootsie Chase shirt and matching red nails, she’s a stand-out among the early morning joggers. Later, after a day of pouring through data and tracking down leads, you might catch a glimpse of her sassy red hat as she steps out for the evening with JR, her occasional bodyguard, friend and… Well, that’s another story. Tootsie Chase is happy, she’s fit, she’s classy and her passion…solving mysteries.
