About the Author

After reading Longfellow’s “Midnight Ride of Paul Revere” in grade school, Paula Robinson was hooked on writing and poetry that tells a story. The passion remained with her as she earned her bachelor’s degree in education at SUNY Brockport, taught second grade, married and raised two daughters. Writing continued to be part of her life as several short stories and poems were published in holiday albums of the local newspaper.

When a friend asked her to create a poem for a variety show fundraiser, the fun began. The poem was written, memorized and presented. A favorable reaction brought her back each year. Then during the celebration of the millennium, history was made. Tootsie Chase, Private Detective, was born. Paula, sporting a red fedora, assumed the role of Tootsie Chase. She rhymed her way through suspense and intrigue in an interactive, fun filled mystery while the delighted audience was asked to play sleuth and take a stab at guessing “who-dunit.” Since that time, more Tootsie Chase mysteries have been written and presented to adults and children.

Writing Tootsie Chase Mysteries has not been her only endeavor. Her novel, Locked In…Locked Out, not published as yet, is a fast-paced, suspenseful mystery. She is a member of Pennwriters, a Pennsylvania writing organization and Sisters in Crime. Paula lives in western New York with her husband and loves spending time with her three grandchildren and one very large granddog.
